At PickiChat (“we”, “us”), we respect your privacy and are committed to being transparent about how we intend to use your information and about its security. Presented here is our Privacy Policy for this online Platform:
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully because it contains important information on who we are, how and why we collect, store, use and share personal information on this Platform, your rights in relation to your personal information and on how to contact us and supervisory authorities in the event you have a complaint.

ABOUT US
PickiChat is a software service provider offering online, realtime chatting platform on which users can chat with each other and make new firends online, over the internet. We collect, use and are responsible for certain personal information about you. We are responsible as `controller` of that personal information for the purposes of applicable privacy laws.
OUR PLATFORM
OUR COLLECTION AND USE OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
We collect personal information about you when you access our Platform, register an account with us, contact us, send us feedback, update your profile with us, and pay for your profile to be boosted.
We collect this personal information from you either directly, such as when you register with us, or pay for a Profile Boost; or indirectly, such as your browsing activity while you are using our Platform (see `Cookies` below).
The personal information we collect about you depends on the particular activities you carry out through our Platform. This information may include:
- your gender;
- your date of birth;
- your phone number or email address;
- your location (that is, your coordinates);
- your country, state, city, town;
- details of any feedback you give us;
- information about the Platform Services we provide to you;
- your profile picture and your other photos; and
- your PickiChat account details, such as username and login details.
We use this personal information to:
- create and manage your account with us;
- verify your identity;
- provide our Platform Services to you;
- customise our Platform and its content to your peculiar need; and
- communicate to you any information about our Platform or our services that may be necessary.
This Platform is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18 under any circumstances and we do not knowingly collect or use personal information relating to children.
OUR LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
When we use your personal information, we are required to have a legal basis for doing so. There are various legal bases on which we may rely, depending on what personal information we are processing and why.

We ask for this to process an Escort’s payment for her/his PickiChat Profile Boost. This will be collected by our third-party payment service providers in order to process your payment. We do not store your payment card details nor do our third-party payment service providers retain them beyond the moment they finish processing the payment. Thus, during any subsequent Profile Boost, they collect your payment card information from you afresh, and discard same as soon as the payment process is completed.

Whenever Users interact with the General Chat feature of the Online Users feature of the Platform. (a.) Each time a registered User logs in to her /his PickiChat account, and (b) at intervals while she/he is online. |
The coordinates of the User who is currently logged in The coordinates of the registered User who has just logged in or who has been online for such a time interval that is long enough for the Platform to re-take her/his coordinates. (Thus, while the User is online, the Platform’s record of her/his coordinates is updated at intervals). |
For the User who is currently logged in and as turned discovery on, the Platform uses her/his coordinates to display to her/him profiles of Users that are currently near her/him. When a User goes offline, our Platform retains her/his latest coordinates for 1 hour before discarding them. Before they are discarded, other users can find the User in question. But once the coordinates are discarded by our Platform, the User cannot be found through the 'Online Users’ feature, until she/he logs in again.

WHO WE MAY SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION WITH
- Our trusted third-party payment service providers obtain credit/debit card information from a User when she/he is paying for a Profile Boost.
- Some of those third-party recipients may be based outside the European Economic Area (our current payment service provider Paystack is based outside the EEA).
- We will share personal information with law enforcement or other authorities if required by applicable law.

THE IMPACT OF OUR USE OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
Our use of your personal information will allow us to provide services to you. Our third-party payment service provider’s use of your payment card details will enable them to process your payment for a Profile Boost.
COOKIES
A cookie is a small text file which is placed onto your device (e.g. computer, smartphone or some other electronic device) when you use our Platform. We use cookies on our Platform. The only type of cookies our Platform uses are session cookies which are temporary cookies that are deleted when a user closes their browser. The purpose of using these cookies on our site is to keep user sessions active.
MARKETING
We do not use your data for marketing purposes nor do we share your data with any third party for such purpose.
YOUR RIGHTS
You have several important rights free of charge. In summary, those include rights to:
- (access to) your personal information and to certain other supplementary information that this Privacy Policy is already designed to address;
- require us to correct any mistakes in your information which we hold;
- require the erasure of personal information concerning you in certain situations;
- receive the personal information concerning you which you have provided to us, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and have the right to transmit those data to a third party in certain situations;
- object at any time to processing of personal information concerning you for direct marketing;
- object to decisions being taken by automated means which produce legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affect you;
- object in certain other situations to our continued processing of your personal information; and
- otherwise restrict our processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

KEEPING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION SECURE
We have appropriate security measures in place to prevent personal information from being accidentally lost, or used or accessed in an unauthorised way. We limit access to your personal information to those who have a genuine business or statutory need to know it.
We also have procedures in place to deal with any suspected data security breach. We will notify you and any applicable regulator of a suspected data security breach where we are legally required to do so.
HOW TO COMPLAIN
We do hope that we can resolve any query or concern you raise about our use of your information. However, you reserve the right to complain to a supervisory authority about any alleged infringement of data protection laws.
